Charts Legend

Players listed in ALL CAPITALS have played at least one previous season in the NHL. Players listed in Inter Caps (a mixture of upper and lower case) are rookies in their first NHL season.

Current Points refers to your current points in the hockey pool. This column also includes the total number of games all of your players have played in to date.

Plr. Avg. P/G is your cumulative average points per game. It is calculated by dividing your team's total points by the actual number of games played by your players, not by their teams. If a player has missed games, those missed games are not included in this calculation. (Avg = TotalPoints / GamesPlayed)

Predicted Final Pts/Rank is THE Hockey Pool's prediction of how you will finish the pool. It is calculated by summing the product of each player's points per game and Games Remaining, then adding your team's current points.

Games Remaining refers to the expected number of games your players have left to play. If the player is injured, benched, or holding out, this number assumes that the player will start playing the very next game his team plays. Games Remaining assumes there are 82 games in the regular season. For the playoffs the maximum possible number of games remaining is used; At the start of the playoffs, all of your players can potentially appear in 28 games (4 rounds, a maximum of 7 games per series). This is overly optomistic, unless by some brilliant predictions, you only chose players from the two teams that eventually reach the cup, and all of their series go 7 games.

# of Games Missed refers to the total number of games your players have missed due to injury, benching, contract holdout, etc...

Team Avg. P/G is the average points per game that the player's team has played. (Avg = TotalPoints / (GamesPlayed+GamesMissed))

* These are "additional" statistic categories. So players will get additional stats in these categories as well as getting a regular goal (or assist). For example, if a player scores an overtime goal, his third goal of the game while short-handed, then he'll get a stat increase in each of G, GW, SH, OT, and HT.

** These are "additional" statistic categories. By additional, we mean that a point in this category, will also be a point in another category, for example, a win in overtime (WOT) will also be simply a win (W). Both of the stats categories will increase by one point when a goalie gets a win in overtime, in much the same way that an OT goal is also a GW goal. These stats give you more control over how you are scoring wins and losses for goalies.

*** The NHL does not award players points for ShootOut Winning goals, but we do track them so you can score on them in your pool if you wish. More info.

For example, if you wanted to give goalies 2 points for a win in RT or OT, but only one point for a win in a Shoot Out, you would leave the W scoring at 0, set WRT and WOT to 2 and set WShO to 1. Alternatively, you could also award 1 for a W, and an extra 1 for WRT and WOT.
