Timed Player Trades

If your pool involves timed trades of players, then this feature is for you. By a "timed trade" we mean that each team keeps the points of an individual player for the period of time the player is on the team. As opposed to a trade where you lose all of a players points, and pick up all of a new player's points.

(A trade where you lose all of a players points, and pick up all of a new player's points is and has always been available; simply edit the team from the Administration page and change the player's name.)

Timed Player Trades can be done by logging in with the administrator's password. On the Administration page, there is a link labelled "Edit & Trade Players". By clicking on it, you will be led through a series of pages which capture the information about the trade you wish to make.

The players you trade away from teams will no longer register any new points, and new players traded to the team will have 0 points at the time of the trade, and accumulate points from the trade date on.

If your pool has had timed player trades all season, this feature will allow you to "go back in time" and make the player trades at the appropriate times (ie. you don't have to register trades on the exact day of the trade to have the stats correctly calculated, just specify the date of the trade).

The order in which you do the trades is unimportant.

How to use this feature:

The next page will show the first 9 players to edit. On this page you are able to:

• Edit player positions (ie. change from Forward to Defense)
• Change player start dates (to control when they START getting points)
• Change player end dates (to control when they STOP getting points)
• Delete players from the team entirely
• Change ALL player start or end dates to a specified date
• Change the City Goalie Team(s) they have selected
• Add new players to the team (ie. trade a new player to this team)
• Select any 10 player segement of the team to view and edit

The team is displayed in 10 player chunks and there are buttons to edit the next (and previous) groups of players at the top and bottom of the page.

You can't do a timed trade of a Team yet, however, there is a way to do this trade using Bonus Points. The method is outlined below:

• Go to Initialize & Edit Pool and enable bonus points.
• Record the current points for the OLD team to be traded.
• Record the current points for the NEW team.
• Subtract the NEW team points from the OLD team points.
• Switch the team to the NEW team and give them bonus points that you calculated in step 4.

For example, if the OLD team has 30 points right now and the new team has 40 points:

30 - 40 = -10

When the new team is added with -10 bonus points, the owner will start with a total of 30 points for the new team, and then gain any new points that team makes from then on.
